Digital Printing Innovation for Art Basel 2024
Brand New World successfully tested new digital printing innovation on textiles on quality, speed and process for the most discerning customer: the BRONX BODEGA BASEL art project, the hottest art and food installation during Art Basel, which took place from June 10 to 16, 2024 on the Novartis Campus, masterminded by the ingenious Villa Nomad team from Zurich.
The bar, restaurant and club were located in the Herzog & de Meuron landmark on the Rhine Riviera and were transformed into a unique BRONX BODEGA, offering a gastronomic paradise with contemporary art and design.
A convergence of art, design, and culinary delights that transforms cultural interactions in Basel. Inspired by NYC's iconic small convenience stores, BRONX BODEGA BASEL was a cultural fusion where art, design, and gastronomy came together to create a vibrant social exchange. The pop-up was open daily during Art Basel and invited attendees to eat, relax, socialize, and celebrate.
Located in the Herzog & de Meuron landmark on the Rhine Riviera, the bar, restaurant and club were be transformed into a unique venue featuring curated experiences with contemporary art and design elements for an exclusive week during Art Basel.
Ghetto Gastro (USA), known for its Academy Awards and innovative Caribbean, Latin American, and African-inspired dishes, brought Bronx flair to its culinary creations and collaborated with top Swiss chefs. Elif Oskan from Gül is known for blending her cultural heritage with contemporary gastronomy to create soulful Turkish cuisine. Markus Stöckle from Rosi is celebrated for his 17 Gault Millau points and his artistically reinterpreted Bavarian cuisine. Together, they created an exceptional culinary experience that is as vibrant, diverse, and unexpected as a Bronx bodega in Basel. DJ performances and evening after-parties continued the celebration.
The Herzog & de Meuron building façade was brought to life by dynamic artworks by renowned artist-poets Sasha Stiles and Johannes Gees, transforming Basel's architectural landscape into a digital canvas. The venue was enhanced by artistic interventions by Gab Bois and eclectic fabrics produced by Brand New World, creating an immersive scenography.
